U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services USCIS has begun accepting H-1B cap petitions for employment in Fiscal Year FY 2011. The next few weeks will be closely watched by employers and their immigration counsel, as the agency takes in the first wave of filings and works to determine whether the H-1B cap will have been met during the critical first five business days of the filing period through April 7 or whether cap numbers will remain available beyond this time frame.
