“Fast, friendly and proactive”, relocation experts t & a relocation know exactly how to handle their clients’ expectations and keep them coming back. We find out how.

Making the move to a new country is an exciting step but can be difficult as Jolanda Tetteroo, Managing Director of t & a relocations, knows only too well. “We want to manage people’s expectations and provide them with enough feedback to make them feel comfortable about the whole process, and certainly not feel alone.”

The company has learned to be proactive and keep one step ahead of the relocation process.

“We deal with so many questions from people from various cultures and with different emotional states. Everyone is important to us so we need to be able to balance many cases and files at any one time and make everyone happy.  We keep people in the loop from the start,” affirms Tetteroo.

t & a relocation’s mission is to be a reputable organisation, and they pride themselves on offering a quality service.  “Word of mouth is important for us,” says Tetteroo. “We want our client relationships to be long lasting. Some of our clients have been with us for more than ten years and we see this as a reflection of our services.”

Providing the full package

“We provide both immigration and relocation services. We help our clients obtain work and residence permits as well as helping them with essential tasks such as school and home-finding. Our settling in package addresses things such as registration at the city council and with health professionals and includes spouse career programmes,” says Tetteroo.

The main focus of the spouse programme is dual careers.

“In most cases both members of the couple have a career and one of them has to give up their career when they relocate,” Tetteroo explains. “We can help the accompanying spouse find a job, volunteer work or even pursue a study programme.  We sit down with them and find out what they require. We offer information on searching online for instance and on how to conduct an interview in their new country of residence, and coach them throughout the processes.  We introduce the spouses to recruitment agencies as well as to our own in-house recruitment department.”

Quality control

Linda Hassell, Quality Manager at t & a relocation, keeps close tabs on the organisation’s business processes and procedures and ensures transparency, quality and professionalism. “We do this through inviting our transferees and corporate clients to submit evaluations on our services. This way we can monitor our performance and improve where and when necessary,” she says.

Quality seal

Eura sealt & a relocation also carry the Eura quality seal, an accreditation for relocation providers. “This means that all our processes and procedures are in place,” says Tetteroo.  The company is also a member of the Association of Relocation Professionals (ARPN) in the Netherlands. “Through our in-house business partners we offer related services such as recruitment, HR consultancy services, and tax advice,” she adds.

Global provider

Although the offices are based in the Netherlands, in Almere-- the greater Amsterdam area--the company’s work is both national and international.

“We have a global network of agencies, although we are more active in some countries than others depending on the demand at different times of the year,” explains Tetteroo.

“We have a lot of movement in the UK and France—especially with people moving from the US and South Africa to the UK or from the Netherlands to France. We also have substantial movement from Eastern Europe to the Netherlands.”

Futuristic vision

Reflecting their business philosophy, to be ahead of developments in the industry and in the digital field, the company has a web-based tracking system, which enables clients to log independently and access their files which are stored digitally.

“This futuristic vision is also evident in our training programs for management and staff and we now have the expertise of a certified ERC Global Mobility Specialist on hand,” says Tetteroo.

The company also decided to take their Corporate Social Responsibility one step further and have set up a foundation Caring Unites. “We hope to involve our corporate clients with this foundation which mostly focuses on the people in Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world.  For instance education is an important area for us in this country where illiteracy is a big issue.  We try to help in this area by building schools and funding education, mainly for girls who often do not get the chance to go to school.”

Full customer support

t & a relocationt & a relocation is happy to take all of the pressure of the moving process off their clients and this also means the HR professionals. “Most of the time, HR tells us that they have someone new coming in and provide us with their contact details and let us get on with it, which is fine by us,” says Tetteroo.  “They really outsource the job and have confidence that we can manage the whole process from beginning to end.  And we do!”
